Lapinsalmi Hanging Bridge

One of the most interesting destinations in Repovesi is the hanging bridge which joins the eastern and western side of the Lapinsalmi Sound in Valkeala. The bridge is 50 metres long and weighs 5 tons. Crossing it is always a unique experience
for everyone hiking in the area. The bridge hangs about 10 metres above water. At the eastern side of the bridge there is a campfire site with a campfire shelter and other equipments.

Olhavanvuori

The rock walls of Olhavanvuori in Valkeala rise in places to the height of 40–50 metres. Rock climbing enthusiasts from all around Finland have conquered Olhavanvuori. According to enthusiasts, Olhava is Finland's best – a Mecca for rock climbing. It is also possible to take a marked trail and hike to the top of Olhava from where an impressive view stretches over the whole wilds area.

Elving Tower

There is an impressive view from the Elving tower over the largest lake and wilds area in the Southeast Finland, e.g. towards the Repovesi National Park. The tower is an over 20 metres tall, octagonal structure in the Northern Valkeala along the road leading to Orilampi.
Open until August 7th Mon-Sun 11 am.-6 pm. From September 27th open
Sat-Sun 11 am-6 pm.

Kuutinkanava

The log chute/wood flute in Kuutinsalmi sound tells a part of the history of the industrialization in Finland and of the log floater culture that prevailed in the area.

The Kuutinkanava Canal which joins the lakes Repovesi and Tervajärvi is 270 metres long and was built in 1912. Originally the canal was surfaced with stones. Soon, a wooden flume better suited for log floating was built. This flume has been restored into its original state. Also the nature shaped "opera arena" of Valkeala is situated at the Kuutinlahti bay. There is a campfire site with a campfire shelter and other equipments for hikers at the Kuutinlahti bay.

Mustalampi wilderness cabin and lookout tower

The Mustalamminvuori wilderness cabin in Valkeala accommodates 8-10 persons and includes a sauna. There is a campfire site and a wood shelter close to the cabin. A visitor who goes hiking on the hiking trails can get the cabin key from the Siwa shop in Vuohijärvi village. The cabin cannot be booked in advance and the service is subject to a fee. When the weather is fine there is a magnificent view from the lookout tower on top of the hill which makes the climb to the Mustalamminvuori hill and the tower worth the effort.
