Kouvola Museum of Art
Kouvola Museum of Arts, which has facilities on two floors, was built in 1987 as a part of Kouvola's cultural centre, Kouvola-talo – the Kouvola House. Kouvola House, which was designed by Erkki Valovirta, is regarded as one of the most beautiful post modern buildings in Finland. There is a café in the Kouvola House. The entry to the museum is unobstructed. The collection in the Kouvola Museum of Art consists of the art collections of the towns Kouvola, Kuusankoski and Anjalankoski and those of the municipalities Elimäki, Jaala and Valkeala, and the collections of the Kouvola Museum of Art and the Art Fund of the county of Kymenlääni. The county collections became a part of the Kouvola Museum of Art's collection on 1 of January 2009, when the six municipalities in Kouvola region merged into the new city of Kouvola. |

Anjala Manor Museum The Anjala Manor came into possession of the Wrede family when Henrik Wrede saved the life of King Charles IX of Sweden in 1605 in the battle of Kircholm near Riga, sacrificing his own life. Wrede's widow received several farms as a reward for her husband's bravery. The Anjala manor was part of a larger donation, the so called "quarter of Elimäki". |

The old manor building was destroyed in 1789 in a fire caused by Russian artillery. The present main building was built in the turn of the 18th and the 19th centuries. The rooms of the main building have been decorated in the style of the end of the 18th century and the 19th century.
