Guided walking tour – Life at Tehtaanmäki in Inkeroinen
The tour starts from the Anjala side of the Ankkapurha Cultural Park, in front of the Makasiinikahvila.
The wood processing industry along the Kymijoki River has been around for over 150 years. The first wood grinding mill was established in Inkeroinen in 1872 and a factory village quickly grew around it, with residential cottages, production plants, managers’ houses, a church, a school, a shop… all a bit mixed up.
The factory village is still vibrant. We hear about the birth of the factory and the lives of the workers. How the factory also had a professional title of fisherman. At the end of the tour, we will visit the museum house Varpune.
Adults 10 euros, children under 15 years of age accompanied by an adult free of charge. Payment to the guide in cash on site or in advance from the online store https://ankkapurha.johku.com [https://ankkapurha.johku.com/fi]
