Johanna Kurkela – Forest of Forgetting
Johanna Kurkela’s international ensemble Eye of Melian on its first Finnish tour!
Johanna Kurkela’s Eye of Melian brings a breathtaking fantasy-symphonic world on tour in Finland for the first time. In March 2026, this international band will arrive on theater stages around the country, transforming concert halls into cinematic stages where orchestral splendor and ethereal storytelling combine.
The band, founded by Dutch composer-producer Martijn Westerholt (Delain, ex-Within Temptation) and featuring Finland’s own Johanna Kurkela, American lyricist Robin La Joy and Finnish orchestrator-producer Mikko P. Mustonen, creates music that feels like stepping into the middle of a great fantasy film.
With their brand new album Forest of Forgetting (Napalm Records, 20.2.2026), Eye of Melian invites the audience immerse yourself in their new symphonic story world. Enchanting piano themes, lush orchestral tones and songs shimmering with northern magic are expected, performed in the intimate and powerful atmosphere of the theatre.
A cinematic composition and a narrative that fuels the imagination make the Eye of Melian concert a journey to ancient forests, lost memories and places where light and myths are born.
