Frances Hodgson Burnett’s beloved classic story comes to life on the large stage of Kouvola Theatre as a magical theatrical experience framed by music, which both children and adults will enjoy.

The Secret Garden is a heartwarming story about how friendship, curiosity and hope can blossom. It is a story about children who change the world and adults who learn to open their hearts again.

Orphaned Meeri is sent to live with her uncle, Lord Sysiluoto, in a mysterious mansion, where people speak in whispers and feelings are hidden behind closed doors. When Meeri finds a locked garden and decides to bring it back to life, an adventure begins where silence gives way and life wins. Together with new friends, Meeri learns that growth is possible – even where everything seems to have withered at first.

This stage interpretation of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s classic is full of great emotions and visual magic. The Secret Garden is a theatrical experience for the whole family. It reminds us that there is something inside each of us that needs light and time to unfold. The music for the play was composed by Arttu Takalo, originally from Kouvola.
