Niivermäki natural reserve

The birdlife of Niivermäki is worth mentioning, as species that prefer old forests and are demanding have been observed there. A 2.1 km long nature trail has been established in the conservation area, along which there are information boards. The information boards tell about the nature of the Niivermäki area, and each board also includes a section of the Kaarne grove aimed at children.

Among the mature spruce forests, there are a few noble deciduous trees and quite a lot of rotten wood, which increase the value of the old forest. Raven hollows and more rugged rocky areas and quarries also add to the diversity of the area.

There is a nature tower on the trail and groups of benches for a snack break. Making fires is prohibited in the area. Niivermäki is located right next to the Veturi Shopping Center.
