Kymi Brass XXIV: Euphoria Brass Sextet

The Euphoria Brass Sextet’s 20th anniversary concert will be heard as part of the Kymi Brass weekend.

Euphoria Brass Sextet, which was formed in 2005 at the Sibelius Academy through a jam session between friends, is known as a boundary-breaker and a reformer of brass music. The group has charmed its audience from the Lieksa Brass Festival to the stages of Kymi Brass and the Camerata Hall of the Helsinki Music Centre – always accompanied by an enthusiastic reception.

The core of EBS is its distinctive repertoire: among others, more than 70 of their songs are composed and arranged by the members of the group. This 20th anniversary concert is made especially magical by two guest soloists: bandoneon master Henrik Sandås and the charismaticvocalist Emilia Nyman, with whom the band released the album “Kun” in 2010.

This is a concert where the power of brass, the pulse of the bandoneon and the sensitivity of singing combine into an unforgettable experience.
