Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus is known for its unique heavy rock sound. Founded in 1996, the band had an incredible eight-year career on the Finnish heavy rock stage. The band’s most famous songs include “Nyt on mies!”, “Surupuku”, “Lumessakahlaajat” and “Suomi sata vuotta”. The band sold over 130,000 albums, and in 2002 it was awarded no less than four Emma awards. In December 2004, the band went on hiatus and announced about two years later that its career had ended for good.

In 2017, however, frontman Timo Rautiainen reversed his decision to quit after stating that there was no point in rigid absoluteness if the fire of playing was still alive. The band made a long-awaited comeback through Sakara Records by releasing the singles “Pitkän kaavan mukaan” and “Suomi sata vuotta” and the comeback album “Lauluja Suomesta”, which took the band back to the biggest festival stages. The success continued with the album “Mahdoton ytähtälö” released in 2020, and in the spring of 2021 the band was awarded gold records for the songs “Lumessakahlaajat” (3 million streams) and “Suomi sata vuotta” (2 million streams).

In the spring of 2025, Trio Niskalaukaus renewed its ranks, when Aksu Hanttu, who had been marinating in metal bands, joined as the new drummer. That same summer, the band released the single “Idänjuna” and celebrated the 25th anniversary of their classic album “Itku pittästä ilosta” on stage. The band’s seventh studio album “Tuomiojärvi”, released in September 2025, took the lineup on tour again to the country’s top clubs.
