Lappeenranta-based Kotiteollisuus is one of Finland’s most respected heavy rock bands. Founded in 1993, the band was initially known as Hullu ukko and Kotiteollisuus, until the name was shortened to its current name in 1997. The band’s big breakthrough came in 2004, when it won the Best Hard Rock/Metal Album award for its hit album Emma Helvetistä itään. The band’s most famous songs include “Rakastaa/ei rakastaa”, “Helvetistä itään” and “Minä olen”.

Guitarist Miitri Aaltonen, who has been touring for years, was accepted as a full member of the band in 2014. Jouni Hynynen, who not only sings, composes and writes songs, but also writes books, is the band’s self-appointed frontman. Known for their uncompromising attitude, the group has toured festivals and clubs extensively throughout their career.
