IN THE MAGIC OF KNOTS – pinecone lace exhibition

Käpy lace exhibition in Kouvola in the Valtari shopping center, in the Tarinashop exhibition space from 1.7.2025 to 4.8.2025 Mon – Fri 10 am – 5 pm. The collection’s cone maker will be on hand on Monday 7.7.

Käpy lace is a rare craft whose golden age was the 19th century. Books were also translated into Finnish in the 1920s. After the war, the cone making method was left useless in the shadow of reconstruction.

The exhibition is a rare opportunity to get acquainted with the technique and different types of lace, which include over 300 smaller and larger laces, cone-made in different styles and materials.

The exhibition works are not for sale, this is a personal collection.
