During the lecture, we will hear about Aalto’s most significant masterpieces from Kymenlaakso, such as Karhula’s Sunila, which is nominated for UNESCO World Heritage status as part of the “Aalto Works” ensemble. In the design of Sunila, Aalto masterfully combined functionalism, aesthetics and nature into a seamless whole. Join us on a unique journey into the architectural landscapes created by Aalto and experience why Kymenlaakso deserves its place as Finland’s most significant Aalto region.
