Lakeside events at the beaches of Kouvola and Iitti

Welcome to the Järven äräsärella events aimed at the whole family!

The Rural Education Association and the Kymenlaakso Villages Association are gathering the views of local shoreline users into a multi-use plan for shoreline areas. The project area is two lake clusters in the Kouvola and Iitti areas. The aim is to support biodiversity and sustainable use of lakes – taking into account the wishes and needs of local people.

Sustainable use means, for example, that the lake and its shores can be used for recreation, fishing and landscape management in a way that preserves the area and its nature for future generations.

In September, open-air Järven äräsärella events aimed at the whole family will be held near the shoreline, open to everyone, with the program including, for example, an introduction to the species and recreational use opportunities of the shoreline areas.

The events are part of the Developing and Diverse Lakeshores project, which prepares multi-use plans for coastal areas and increases local cooperation for the benefit of water bodies.

SURVEY

In addition to the events, users of coastal areas are asked to respond to a survey on the use of coastal areas. The answers to the survey will help plan concrete measures for the benefit of the lake and its environment. Thank you in advance for your participation – every answer is important!
