Jätkän Onnela

Come and discover a very interesting ITE art site.

Jätkän Onnela is located in the village of Kääpälkä.Free admission. Kääpälän seudun Kyläyhdistys ry and the descendants of Ensio Tuppuraisen have been restoring the works together since 2020.

ITE artist Ensio Tuppurainen was born on 3.7.1924 in Hirvensalmi. He and his family moved to the present Jätkän Onnela property as a shopkeeper for a few years in 1953. In 1977, he bought this former workplace, now closed, and moved in with his wife and two youngest children. Over a period of some 37 years, paintings and sculptures were created until the death of the already well-known ITE artist at his home in Jätkän Onnela on 3 October 2014.

The area is free to move around and photograph. Photos can be posted and there is a large information board with more information.
