Aufguss sauna experience

Aufguss is a sauna ritual originating in Central Europe, in which the sauna master pours essential oils into the sauna water and distributes the hot steam into the room with rhythmic movements of a towel. 

The goal is not just heat, but presence. Participants sit in silence as the temperature gradually rises.

One Aufguss session lasts about an hour and consists of three separate sauna moments, between which they move outside or to a cool room. Everyone can choose which parts they participate in.

On this trip, the Aufguss moments are led by the Danish Nichlas Rasmussen – an experienced sauna master who has competed in international Aufguss competitions and works full-time at one of Sweden’s largest sauna houses, Kallis i Helsingborg.
