This year, the Finnish Jazz Association is celebrating the 100th year of jazz history in Finland and Eero Koivistoinen his 80th birthday. The first half of the concert will be filled with Heikki Sarmanto’s symphonic poem, Suomi. Our region has strong traditions in jazz, and the trio that accompanies us in this concert is also made up of young local jazz musicians. We will also hear a piece by Eero’s idol, John Coltrane, which Koivistoinen has arranged for big band. This year marks the 100th anniversary of Coltrane’s birth, so this is a place for many celebrations! Welcome to celebrate with the power of jazz!

Temporary concert, duration approx. 2 hours.
