Have you seen any familiar faces? -work I painted in Kouvola in the summer of 1975, using oil paint and tempera as the technique, alternating with a brush and a spray gun. Size: 130 cm x 160 cm.
Kouvola Market Square
I asked my daughter, Livia, who was then 100 cm tall, a little two-year-old sitting in a stroller
“ what do you remember about the market square? ”
“ The people walking in the market square walked with bare legs and their legs looked like brown tree trunks ”
Irmeli Tarmo is a visual artist living in Kouvola. After graduating as a painter from the School of the Finnish Academy of Arts in 1966, she went to continue her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. After returning from there, she says she found a new perspective on the surrounding landscape of her homeland.
