“Little Friends of Our Yards” photo exhibition at Makasiini Café

Macro photography opens a new window to the small wonders of nature.

In August, insects will be featured in the Makasiinikahvila photography exhibition. Suvi Timonen and Jari Timonen will photograph insects they come across in their own habitat and without harming them. The goal is to present the little bugs we all know in a way that we don’t get to see in everyday life. It is hoped that the insect portraits will dispel learned images of insects and arouse interest in these small members of the animal kingdom in the viewer.

Suvi photographs with an atmosphere in mind. The camera is a tool for encountering the diversity of beauty around us. Jari uses the so-called stacking technique as a macro photography technique, in which depth of field is increased by combining several images, thus allowing the subject to be seen in detail from a wider area.  

 No one bites or stings here. Welcome to be enchanted! The exhibition is free to enter and is open during the café’s opening hours, Tue-Sun 12-6pm.

The Makasiin Café’s exhibition space is on the second floor of the building and can be reached via stairs.
