Home and Radio Museum

The Home and Radio Museum, located in the museum quarter of Kouvola, takes visitors on a journey through time to everyday life and the history of communications in the 20th century. In the Home Museum, visitors can explore rooms decorated for different decades, where home technical aids, such as radios, telephones and record players, tell the story of the changing lifestyle from the 1920s to the 1960s.

The Radio Museum’s collections feature a wide range of radio equipment, from early crystal radios to impressive radio cabinets. The Military Radio Museum, located in the same complex, presents communication equipment from the Winter and Continuation Wars, as well as post-war radio equipment. The museum offers an interesting overview of both technology and the history of everyday life.
