School trips to Kouvola

School is generally quite nice, but here in Kouvola, it’s a little bit more fun! Especially when the school arrives with a camp in mind.

Ankkapurha Youth Center is Finland’s ninth official youth center, established in 2000. Anjala has thus offered a change to the school routine for well over 20 years. As an unofficial Finnish record, it’s worth mentioning that in 2016, Anjala hosted 101 school camps.

School camps are organized year-round, with programs managed by seasoned professionals in the field. The aim of the school camps is to support the curriculum and group activities, but equally important is to create a fun experience for everyone!

Effortlessly to the school camp bench

The Ankkapurha area features a youth center located in a picturesque environment, right by the Kymijoki River. However, the youth center and cultural park are not hidden away in the backwoods, as the area’s services are only an hour and a half drive from the capital region. You can reach Kouvola city center in less than half an hour by car. The nature surrounding the youth center is a great way to bring variety and new positive energy to the school year.

Organizing a school camp in Anjala is quite effortless, as all services are conveniently available under one roof. Camp participants and supervisors can stay in the area, and there won’t be any issues regarding meals. So, there’s no need to stress about arrangements, as you can conveniently get everything you need from the same house.

Of course, it’s good to get all sorts of programs during the school camp, and that can be done! During the camp in Anjala, for example, you can solve the Pehtoori’s puzzles, adventure in a maze, practice expressive skills, or engage with an interactive mobile game.

It’s probably worth mentioning that if you are looking for something a bit more exhilarating during the camp, you can head to Tykkimäki Amusement Park. Besides amusement, you could also indulge at the Kouvola Licorice Factory Store or try various activities at the Elämysbunkkeri.

Also for graduates

If you have already graduated from school, don’t worry. The youth center’s service offerings also include various meeting services and recreational days. Good decisions are made in meetings when the surroundings are so inspiring.

In addition to meeting services, the Ankkapurha Youth Center also offers accommodation services. There is room for 140 people in shared apartments. Staying in an apartment is a pleasant change from hotel life, especially if you are on a long trip. It’s only about half an hour to Kouvola city center, so with a quick dash, you can get back to the heart of the city.
